Zune appears on FCC site

Well, it had to appear sooner or later, and thanks to a number of tip offs (you know who you are!), we checked today and there it is, the Zune in all it's glory.

Interestingly, it's been submitted by Toshiba and described as HDD Portable Audio Player Type 1089. There are photos of the outside, inside, and a cheeky little clue as to what the Toshiba 1089 actually is...

There is even a small manual, telling us details such as: 2.0 inch low temperature polysilicone TFT LCD; high quality FM tuner with RDBS; 802.11G support up to 54Mbps; Li-Ion battery.

The manual gives the game away even more, by stating "Connect and charge Zune for about two hours" - No Tosh 1089 mentioned there! "Sync your music movies and pictures"; "For more see www.pyxis.com".

The manual then discusses Pyxis devices - which was the name that the 2nd gen of Zunes would have (the nano style devices). "Pyxis allows you to stream music to up to 4 other Pyxis devices."; "You can invite other Argo members that you meet"

So a bit of a hotch-potch of phrasing and naming, but essentially what we already thought we knew.

More pics here, here, here and here.
