Just got an email from a person going by the name Luke, who claims to have snaped a pic of a new Microsoft product. Is this the possible Zune second gen? Or just a crule hox :(
I have to say, looks pretty cool, maybe little iphoneish? But if you do know where this pic does [...]

Despite not being a huge fan of standard pink gadgets, this powder pink Zune is turning out to look snazzier than we thought. It's a different shade of pink than the limited edition Willy Wonka Zunes we saw last year. That was a super-limited edition only for employees who worked on the Zune and 100 lucky contestants who found them in standard Zune packages.
Instead of retina-scarring pink, it's a soft baby pink that makes you feel oh-so-pretty. We're digging this one.

Although fuel cells aren't yet at the point where they can fit easily into devices like the Zune, the iPod, or cellphones, they are small enough to be used as rechargers. This is why Medis Technologies has produced the first of its Microsoft-branded fuel cell rechargers, and should be up to a capacity of 1 million units per month by the end of June.
Neither company is saying what the rechargers are for, but if you take a look at Microsoft's line of portable gadgets there aren't a whole lot that really call for recharging on the go. That leaves the Zune, the next-gen Zune, and the Zune Phone. If we had to guess, we'd say making sure you can make a phone call after a midnight rest stop hookup goes awry weighs a bit higher than making sure you can continue air guitaring Woman by Wolfmother. – Jason Chen

Read that headline carefully, it says fuel-cell recharger, not battery. Unfortunately, this promising, refillable battery replacement technology is still far too bulky to squeeze into ultra slim portable electronics. Still, New York-based Medis Technologies was caught boasting about their sale of Microsoft-branded fuel-cell rechargers. Unfortunately, CEO Robert Lifton declined to comment on how many of their 24/7 Power Packs were purchased by Microsoft or how they would be used. The device itself, however will recharge or provide (unspecified) extended use for portable electronics -- you know, like the Zune. So don't be surprised to find this ugly duck offered as an accessory later in the year... in brown of course, perhaps with watermelon trim.

Well didn’t see this one coming, all the talk about red, orange and pink Zunes but then out of left field comes this “Copper” colored Zune. This Zune has appeared on the Office Depot website for same price as all other Zune ($249). Some people are putting this down as a miss labeled Brown Zune, [...]

How many damned colors is Microsoft wrapping their Zune in? Office Depot has this copper one up for sale, but I'm skeptical that it's anything but a mislabeled brown one. Anyway, there isn't a color out there that they could make the Zune to make me want to buy it without uncrippling the Wi-Fi features. Sorry, dudes. –Adam Frucci

Rumor has it that Apple is planning to release a Wi-Fi–enabled iPod by the end of the year. Component manufacturers in the far east claim that Apple has orders in for Wi-Fi modules for the music player, which would set up the iPod to compete directly with the Zune in the not-exactly-crowded Wi-Fi-enabled DAP market.
An iPhone-esque, widescreen iPod with Wi-Fi? Sounds good to me, as long as Apple learns from Microsoft's mistakes when it comes to implementing Wi-Fi on a music player. –Adam Frucci

Hey, wait a minute. We thought the first pink Zunes were shipping in May! Nope, you can order one of the girly-pink players at Amazon right now, but there are only 100,000 of them, so you'd better get 'em while the getting's good. Of course, not all 100,000 of them will be sold by Amazon, but the company's site says they're in stock now and selling for the usual $249.99 price.
Before you go and buy that one, take a look at a Photoshopped "watermelon red" Zune, probably not forthcoming anytime soon, but some people think so:
Jeez, that's one small watermelon! Anyway, we like the red one much better than the pink. Look at those green edges! Nice Photoshopping. Don't buy any of them and wait for the rumored nano-sized Zune 2.0. – Charlie White

We've had our fair share of Zune gripes lately, but there's nothing not to love here: you can pick up one of those new pink Zune models now at Amazon, instead of waiting for the promised May release date. You know the drill by now, we're sure. $250, "limited run" of 100k, doubleshot casing won't save your life but it doesn't look bad neither.

Zune-Online is reporting that the pink Zune is to be introduced to polite society tomorrow. That's Friday 13th.
Now then, this could mean three things: one, that Microsoft have a, like, hulaaaaarious sense of humour; two, it's utter bollocks and I should go back to my day job of sexing chickens; or three, that the rumours are true.
The rumours being that the pastel-colored machines are indeed made from the flesh of zombie nympho piglets. One way to check - scratch the screen and see if you draw blood or not. You may smell bacon as well. – Ad Dugdale
